Job Description

Performs paint application to structural parts, components and subsystems for aircraft applications using products and processes that are varied and moderately complex to complex in scope to apply primer, topcoat paint, and any spray-applied coatings to aircraft parts consistent with government, customer and company standards.

Essential Functions

  • Apply primer and finish coats, including masking, stripping and other detail work.

  • Lay out paint schemes and design templates.

  • Apply markings to parts and aircraft using several methods including silk screens, stencils and maskant aids.

  • Set up and operate such typical shop equipment as spray guns, paint mixers, paint measuring equipment and other general shop equipment and tools to complete work assignments.

  • Provide guidance and training to new or lesser skilled paint operation personnel.

  • Check work for completeness and accuracy.

  • Maintain Quality, Schedule and Cost standards.

  • Work from Blueprints, Work Instructions and Engineering Specifications.

  • Notify supervision of any/all malfunctions, defect and damages of equipment, material and product.

  • Adhere to all applicable Environmental, Safety, Health, FOD and Operations Procedures/Directives

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Perform Production Accountability duties associated with the processing, verification, quality auditing, and inspection of assemblies, parts and tooling,

  • or which the individual has been delegated production accountability.

  • Ability to lift, carry and handle objects weighing 50 - 70 pounds

Education/Experience

  • Four (4) years of high school or equivalent vocational or similar training, including shop math to interpret and work from blueprints, specifications, manuals, and operation and work sheet instructions.

  • Maintain any/all required certifications

  • Minimum two (2) year related experience, providing knowledge of a wide variety of aerospace/automotive/industrial coating application techniques.

  • 0-2 years of experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

The salary range for this position is: $23.00 - $35.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and other factors allowed by law. Individuals are not typically hired at or near the top of the salary range.
