Tooling Inspector

Job Description

The qualified candidate will be responsible for inspection, acceptance, calibration and related documentation of CPI-owned tooling. Candidate must be able to utilize portable CMM equipment (FARO arm) and associated software to inspect, analyze and rig CPI-owned tools. Additionally, candidate will generate detailed inspection reports from CMM inspections to create established inspection records on CPI-owned tools, perform periodic inspections per customer requirements on CPI-owned tools, and generate Inspection reports.


General Physical Requirements:  Lifting, standing, sitting, stooping, bending, grasping, holding, reaching, pushing and pulling are generally required to perform the functions of this position. Ability to lift, carry, and handle objects weighing 25-30 pounds.



  • 0-2 years experience
  • Associates Degree or equivalent education and work experience
  • Strong capability on portable CMM (FARO arm) equipment and software
  • Blueprint reading skills and knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 is a must
  • Strong understanding of precision tooling design and build techniques as well as inspection methodology a must
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly MS Word and Excel required
  • Some knowledge of CATIA and solid modeling methodology
