Job Description

The Director of IT will be a dynamic and knowledgeable professional with experience in strategic planning, project management, system implementation and cybersecurity. This role will play a crucial part in developing, optimizing and executing the company’s technology strategy to support business objectives and enhance operational efficiency. This individual should possess exceptional leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute the overall IT strategy to align with the company's business goals.

  • Collaborate with senior management to drive continuous improvement in business processes through technology solutions.

  • Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization.

  • Leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance operational efficiency, productivity and decision-making processes.

Infrastructure Management

  • Oversee the design and maintenance of robust IT infrastructure.

  • Ensure the security, integrity and availability of data and systems.

  • Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance organizational productivity.

Team Management

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing IT team, fostering professional growth and development.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives and support business needs within the IT department and throughout the enterprise.

Project Management

  • Manage IT projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.

  • Lead the planning, implementation and maintenance of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system including strategies for data migration, end user training and change

  • management.

  • Work closely with stakeholders to define project scope and requirements.

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans and budgets and conduct thorough testing and quality assurance of projects.

  • Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring successful implementation and integration.

  • Provide regular updates to senior management on recommendations and project status.

  • Collaborate with finance teams to enhance financial processes and reporting capabilities.

Vendor Management

  • Oversee relationships with external vendors and service providers.

  • Negotiate contracts, manage service-level agreements and ensure vendor performance and cost-effectiveness.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and recommend new technologies and solutions.

Compliance and Security

  • Implement and enforce IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.

  • Develop and maintain a robust cybersecurity framework to safeguard company data.

  • Maintain detailed records for audit and compliance purposes.

  • Manage risk register for project-based, cybersecurity and information technology risks.

  • Maintain business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergencies or data loss.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Proven experience as a senior IT leader, preferably in the manufacturing industry, with project management experience.

  • Experience selecting, implementing and managing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system(s).

  • Experience with developing and launching tools and/or software that support complex financial reporting.

  • Must have intermediate/advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook. PowerPoint, Word).

  • Proficiency in development tools such as Python, Java or similar.

  • Proven experience implementing and maintaining on-premise and cloud solutions.

  • Experience with business process management (BPM) software is a plus.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization including presenting periodically to the company’s Board.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.

  • Skilled in documenting and communicating complex concepts.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

The salary range for this position is : $133,000-$175,000. Actual compensation will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and other factors allowed by law. Individuals are not typically hired at or near the top of the salary range.
